eCube Announces 2010 NXTware Remote Product Roadmap
New capabilities empower IT organizations to use unified cross-functional teams to maintain and create applications on all of their software and hardware platforms -- both new and old -- using Eclipse and NXTware Remote.
Montgomery, TX (PRWEB) December 18, 2009 -- Today, eCube Systems announced a detailed 2010 product roadmap for NXTware Remote, its Eclipse-based cross-platform Remote Development Environment (RDE). The roadmap outlines major releases and product enhancements scheduled through the first quarter of 2011. The plan also includes new releases of NXTware Remote for OpenVMS, NXTware Remote for UNIX/ Linux, NXTware Remote for Windows Server and NXTware Remote for Mac OS Server.

Eclipse Customization Framework and IT Development Modernization
With the release of NXTware Remote 4.0 in April 2010, almost any development activity or process that takes place on a development, test or production server within an enterprise can be started, interacted with and managed remotely with Eclipse using NXtware Remote. For years, software vendors have been lowering costs and simplifying development by using Eclipse as a platform for their commercial offerings -- making them more profitable and speeding time-to-market. The NXTware Remote platform will allow any IT organization to integrate custom libraries, home-grown utilities and tools into the Eclipse development environment.
As prior generations of developers retire, new developers need to take their place. The complexity of the legacy development processes, its non-IDE nature and the uniqueness of proprietary utilities make hiring, training and employee retention both expensive and difficult. NXTware Remote 4.0 makes it simple for new employees to quickly become productive in what is an already familiar visual environment. With the integration of proprietary libraries and programs into Eclipse, new developers can quickly understand the development process and easily leverage existing utilities available in heritage development environments. This limits the cost of training and time needed to reach proficiency.
The roadmap calls for eCube to start delivering this general capability prior to release as part of its IT Modernization consulting engagements in early 2010. All of the NXTware Remote products are scheduled to be built on this new framework by the end of 2010.
Future Versions of NXTware Remote
There are 4 major releases for the 2010 NXTware Remote Schedule, including two new product releases. There are also several significant updates.
