NXTware Evolution Platform and Integrated Maintenance Environment

Dynamic platform for improving the ROI and performance of strategic applications built on legacy middleware

The NXTWare Evolution Platform combines an Eclipse-based workbench with a maintenance  framework for updating, integrating and improving valuable legacy middleware applications.  NXTWare makes maintenance engineers more productive and lowers total cost of operation for existing systems. Using NXTware your organization can maintain and service legacy applications faster and with less experienced personnel. At the same time, NXTware reduces the complexity of exposing valuable existing legacy assets as enterprise services.

Integrated  Maintenance Environment

Integrated Maintenance Environment NXTware Integrated Maintenance Environment (IME) is an Eclipse-based environment. The NXTware IME simplifies the use, maintenance and integration of systems built on legacy middleware such as CICS, CORBA, RPC, and DCE.  IME wizards are designed specifically for maintenance engineers: they provide automatic generation of providers and consumers, federate legacy services, simplify configuration and deployment, and automate data and resource sharing, to name a few of it more powerful features.

Even maintenance engineers not familiar with CORBA, RPC or COBOL and C/C++ can be productive using the NXTware IME. Previously, developers without experience in these tools and working with procedural command line tools were limited in what they could do and how fast they could it.

Productivity Tooling

With NXTware visual programmers can maintain and update RPC/DCE and CORBA-based applications in C/C++ and even COBOL with little experience and just a basic understanding of service oriented architecture. This means that maintenance engineers and developers can share the same visual design processes and their inherent  productivity they create.

The power of NXTware's Eclipse tooling also makes it possible for maintenance engineers to extend the reach of legacy middleware applications to contemporary SOA and ESB platforms. Automatic generation of  SOA/ESB interfaces simplify the integration of legacy systems with WebSphereMQ, JMS, SOAP and .NET.  NXTware users get more out of their legacy middleware investments and take full advantage of the benefits of SOA faster.

NXTware Evolution Platform: Maintenance Stacks

The NXTware Evolution Platform is delivered in platform stacks that target specific applications platforms.  NXTware provides maintenance and integration tooling and engines for each of these platforms.

CORBA Stack

CORBA StackWhether you are using a commercial ORB or an Open Source implementation, the NXTware Evolution Platform's CORBA Stack simplifies the maintenance and development of CORBA applications.  The CORBA stack includes of 15 tools and Wizards that simply the Development and maintenance of CORBA-based applications.  (More Information)

RPC Stack

RPC StackThe NXTware RPC Stack allows Maintenance Engineers with little or no experience with COBOL, C /C++ and FORTRAN to be productive maintaining and integrating legacy applications.  The stack combines 10 Wizards and 8 tools designed to make operating applications based on legacy platforms more affordable and efficient to run.  (More Information)

DCE Stack

DCE, the Distributed Computing Environment, developed by the Open Group, is one of the most powerful and complex distributed computing platforms ever developed.  Unfortunately it complexity makes it very expense to own and operate. The NXTware DCE Stack encapsulates the complexity of DCE in libraries, tools and wizard in the NXTware IME. (More Information)

Integration and Maintenance Stack

Integration and Maintenance StackAt the core of NXTware are its Integration and maintenance capabilities. These capabilities are based on APACHE AXIS SOAP Stack and the NXTware J-Platform. These two core technologies enable users to enhance, modify and federate existing system within the NXTware Platform container with  interfaces that allow them to act as providers and consumers of SOA and ESB services.
