Enterprise Modernization is also known as Legacy Modernization or Application Modernization. This is a process employed by companies to extend the life of some of their legacy applications. Most people associate Legacy software with mainframe applications written in COBOL, but more and more applications written in DCE and Corba are now being targeted for modernization to SOA.
