eCube Systems Announces .NET/WCF support for Legacy Systems and Entera Applications with NXTera 6.3- NXTera.NET
NXTera integration with MONO makes it possible for legacy business logic and Entera applications to operate as .NET service providers
Houston, Texas. June 12, 2013
eCube Systems, a leading provider of middleware modernization, integration, and management solutions, announced the immediate availability NXTera.NET, the latest version of NXTera, the Entera compatible high-performance RPC Middleware. NXTera.NET (NXTera 6.3) adds improved support for Microsoft .NET Framework and new integration with Mono, a cross-platform open source version of Microsoft's .NET Framework.
This new release enables new and existing JAVA, COBOL, and BASIC language applications to integrate with .NET-based implementations. Additionally, legacy Entera applications can be modernized and extended to Microsoft.NET and WCF allowing them to expose existing business logic as web services.
"NXTera's ability to extend legacy 3GLs to .NET will allow its users to fully leverage the power of Microsoft WCF and the flexibility provided by Microsoft-centric tools like Sentinet, Nevatech's lightweight and scalable API management platform," said Andrew Slivker, CTO of Nevatech. "NXTera services can now be governed, orchestrated and mediated like any other .NET, SOAP or REST service."
NXTera.NET simplifies this by providing advanced tooling. They include: a C# connector, web services and Mono implementation tools that enhance SOA development and integration productivity.
"eCube Systems continues to provide companies using Entera-based RPC middleware modern capabilities" says Kevin Barnes, CEO of eCube Systems. "Support for Mono 2.10 in NXTera 6.3.net provides interoperability with .NET and modernization path for RPC-based applications. With the expansion of NXTera's client platform to .NET and WFC, we have enhanced the functionality, portability and life of applications built on this popular middleware platform."
Mono is a software platform designed to allow developers to easily create cross platform applications. Sponsored by Xamarin, Mono is an open source implementation of Microsoft's .NET Framework based on the ECMA standards for C# and the Common Language Runtime. A growing family of solutions and an active and enthusiastic contributing community is helping position Mono to become the leading choice for development of Linux applications.
The Windows Communication Foundation (or WCF), previously known as "Indigo", is a runtime and a set of APIs (application programming interface) in the .NET Framework for building connected, service-oriented applications.
NXTera is the next generation multi-threaded RPC middleware that is fully compatible with the highly respected Entera middleware platform. NXTera is widely used in Fortune 1000 companies around the world. Learn more.
