eCube Systems Releases NXTera Middleware for Linux and Silicon Graphics IRIX 6.5 Operating Systems
eCube's NXTera Intelligent Middleware Product Meets the Needs of the Science And Engineering Community on Linux and IRIX.
Boston, MA. July 24, 2004
eCube Systems, a leading provider of development products for enterprise systems announced today that its NXTera TCP Intelligent Middleware product now runs on SGI IRIX(R) 6.5 and 64-bit Linux operating systems.
NXTera is the next evolution of the Entera middleware product, which is widely used with HP-UX, Solaris, Windows and IBM AIX in many Fortune 500 companies to quickly develop high performance distributed applications. NXTera delivers ease of development, unprecedented performance, and integration with contemporary architectures such as CORBA, J2EE and Web Services.
In conjunction with the recent SGI Global Developer Program conference theme "The Best of Both Worlds", NXTera enables developers to quickly develop new applications on 64-bit Linux and IRIX OS-based systems.
NXTera's powerful Entera lineage, expertise in distributed computing and legacy transformation allows eCube to extend technology investments by:
- Enabling SGI and open source developers to employ the n-tier paradigm to scientific problems and provide techniques to quickly develop and test new distributed scientific applications.
- Providing simplified access to multiple databases: Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Informix, SQL Server, and MySQL.
- Delivering development tools that simplify, and lower the cost of developing/maintaining DCE-based applications.
"This strategic alliance with eCube provides products that make programmers developing SGI and Linux OS-based applications more productive," said Melissa Schumann, manager of the SGI Global Developer Program. This alliance will benefit technical and creative companies in our key markets of government and defense, sciences, manufacturing, energy, and media by further increasing the ROI for existing SGI systems.
"This development technology has been very successful in the business community," says Kevin Barnes, President and CEO, eCube Systems. "Providing the same benefits in performance and productivity to engineering and scientific applications is one of our primary goals with NXTera."
