LogicBlaze and eCube Systems Partner to Provide Legacy to SOA Integration Solution

Companies will Provide Collaborative Services and Support for eCube NXTware Evolution Server 2.5 Based on LogicBlaze FUSE

Marina Del Rey, CA and Houston, TX. July 31, 2006

LogicBlaze, a leading provider of open source solutions for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and business integration, and eCube Systems, a leading provider of enterprise evolution solutions, today announced a technology partnership that will provide customers with a comprehensive legacy-to-SOA integration solution in the eCube NXTware Evolution Server 2.5. The two companies will collaborate to promote and provide comprehensive services and support for the product, as well as coordinate sales efforts.

Under the terms of the agreement, eCube will integrate LogicBlaze FUSE, the leading open source runtime SOA platform, with its NXTware Evolution Server 2.5 product to provide an end-to-end solution capable of accessing mainframe legacy systems and incorporating them into a SOA. The eCube NXTware Evolution Server allows companies to incorporate essential business logic on legacy host with modern enterprise IT architecture without costly integration software and complex hand-coding. The addition of LogicBlaze FUSE into eCube NXTware Evolution Server 2.5 provides NXTware and its users with a comprehensive foundation for the integration and development of SOA, including messaging, business process support, scripting and a robust ESB (enterprise service bus), all in a single out-of-the-box solution.

"We chose to build NXTware Evolution Server 2.5 on LogicBlaze FUSE because of the simplicity of integrating the complementary products and the cost-effective and time-saving benefits our customers will achieve through the addition of a proven and feature-rich open source SOA platform," said Kevin Barnes, President and Managing Partner of eCube Systems. "The product integration was relatively simple and only took two weeks to complete, in part because eCube developers were able to directly access and work with the standards-based APIs and open source code in the FUSE architecture—an otherwise impossible proposition with proprietary solutions."

eCube Systems will replace existing proprietary technology in NXTware with the proven open source ESB and SOA functionality in LogicBlaze FUSE, allowing the company to focus development efforts on wide-ranging connectivity to legacy architectures, including CORBA, COBOL and CICS. LogicBlaze FUSE is a simple and streamlined solution that easily integrates with other products, as it provides direct access to open source code, distribution under the enterprise-friendly Apache 2.0 license and a Java Business Integration-based (JBI) design. This enables easy interoperability with a range of integration technologies as pluggable components.

"Frequently, enterprises rely on time-intensive and complex hand-coding because proprietary SOA solutions available on the market are either too limiting or the integration effort too expensive and difficult," said Winston Damarillo, chairman, LogicBlaze. "The integration between LogicBlaze FUSE and eCube Systems NXTware results in a product that builds on the advantages of open source technology, enabling enterprises to easily and cost-effectively leverage their legacy host systems in the most flexible and agile SOA solution available today. The partnership also highlights a central strength of the LogicBlaze business model that permits close collaboration with vendors of commercially licensed software, ultimately providing fast and easy integration to deliver complete solutions to new markets."

eCube Systems NXTware Evolution Server 2.5 will be delivered with the CoRE (Community-oriented Real-time Engineering) Network, a subscription-based framework for production and developer level support and maintenance from Simula Labs. Through the CoRE Network, LogicBlaze and eCube Systems customers can leverage the engineering environment required to support the distributed, asynchronous and iterative requirements of SOA project development, integration and maintenance.

Pricing and Availability

eCube Systems NXTware Evolution Server 2.5 with support for CORBA, DCE, RPC, and TCP/IP middleware, CICS and UNIX applications built in C and UNIX will be priced between $3,000 and $8,000 per server processor depending on configuration.
