eCube Systems Announces NXTware Remote 3.7 Update for OpenVMS with enhanced C++ Support and DCL editor

NXTware Remote 3.7 update for OpenVMS delivers new DCL editor, new C++ functionality and improved performance.

Houston, Texas. May 29, 2012

eCube Systems LLC, a provider of middleware interoperability and development tools, announced NXTware Remote 3.7, an update to its popular Eclipse-based remote development tool. The update features improvements in performance, C++ capability and a new DCL editor.

The C++ functionality of NXTware Remote's Eclipse-based IDE for OpenVMS has been enhanced. Users can now create C++ projects, conduct remote compiles and debug sessions from the Windows, Linux, or MacOS workstations.

New integration with the OpenVMS C++ compiler allows faster compilation and integrated visual debugging. Additionally, the Eclipse CDT C/C++ editor can now be used within NXTware Remote to handle routine standard functions.

DCL is the native scripting language for OpenVMS. NXTware Remote's new DCL editor provides syntax highlighting, code assist and code completion. These features make the task of developing on OpenVMS that much easier -- especially for software engineers new to the platform.

"We are proud to offer the first commercially available DCL editor with syntax highlighting, code assist and code completion," says Kevin Barnes President and CEO of eCube Systems. "The new DCL editor continues eCube's tradition of developing OpenVMS specific tools designed specifically to meet the need of the OpenVMS engineer."

NXTera Remote leverages the Eclipse integrated development environment and high speed middleware to provide remote development capabilities on targeted platforms. The NXTware Remote 3.7 improves the development experience for engineers who are designing software to run on HP OpenVMS (Itanium and Alpha) and VAX VMS operating systems from their Windows, Mac or Linux workstations.
