eCube Systems Announces NXTware Remote 3.8.5 for OpenVMS with Enhanced Support for OpenVMS Operating Systems and Advanced Administrative Tools

NXTware Remote 3.8.5 simplifies management of the NXTware Remote IDE and further improves integration with the OpenVMS operating system.

Houston, Texas. September 28, 2012

eCube Systems LLC, a provider of middleware interoperability and development tools, announced NXTware Remote 3.8.5, an update to its popular Eclipse-based remote development tool. The update features administrative tools that simplify management and continued efforts to seamlessly integrate NXTware Remote with the OpenVMS platform.

NXTware Remote 3.8.5 focuses on OpenVMS integration and adds support for a broader range of OpenVMS file systems. Now NXTware Remote adds ODS-2, the most common file system for OpenVMS, to its robust support for ODS-5.

Additionally, NXTware Remote has enhanced its support for OpenVMS logical names. NXTware Remote search can now span various file locations, devices or queues.

Backing up NXTware Remote custom configurations on a given OpenVMS development system is easier with version 3.8.5. This version provides a mechanism to backup and restore NXTware Remote projects, user preferences and administrative settings, thus simplifying operating system upgrades.

NXTware Remote 3.8.5 also delivers extended logging capabilities with advanced server logging and the recording of audit information. Other new features include DCL command history for easy reuse and enhanced security with 448 bit password encryption.

NXTera Remote leverages the Eclipse integrated development environment and high speed middleware to provide remote development capabilities on targeted platforms. The NXTware Remote 3.8.5 improves the development experience for engineers who are designing software to run on HP OpenVMS (Integrity and Alpha) and VAX VMS operating systems from their Windows, Mac or Linux workstations.
