eCube Announces Entera Legacy Support for SOA with NXTware ESB

NXTware ESB exposes legacy C, C++, COBOL and RPG logic as ESB services

Houston, Texas. January 27, 2006

eCube Systems, a leading provider of enterprise evolution solutions, has recently integrated the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) into NXTware its legacy Evolution Server Platform. NXTware Jplatform already provides Java server support for Entera applications and NXTware EV (Evolution Server) provides support for XML, J2EE and mainframe databases like CICS and IMS.

NXTware ESB leverages NXTware's legacy system integration capabilities to allow existing systems to fully participate in the enterprise service bus model based on the ServiceMix implementation of Java Business Integration (JBI) and the Java Connector Architecture (JCA).

Users of RPG, COBOL, C and C++ legacy applications can now expose existing business logic as loosely-coupled services along the service bus. These new services fully leverage thread pooling, transaction handling and consumption as they deliver and consume services using JMS and XML to implement SOA.

The ServiceMix toolkit allows eCube to replace existing proprietary technology in NXTware with open source ESB and SOA functionality. This shift will enable the company to continue to focus on systemizing legacy participation and evolution, while helping companies get the most out of their existing technology investments.
